This project was developed as part of my work with the Center for Experiential Narrative Technologies (CENT) and focuses on bringing physical board games into a mixed reality environment using Unity and the Meta Quest 3. Rather than creating a traditional VR experience, the goal was to explore mixed reality as a more accessible and immersive format for collaborative and educational games.
I built a flexible Unity-based template that allows students and researchers to integrate physical game boards into a digital environment, using spatial anchors, passthrough, and intuitive hand interactions. The template includes core components such as ray-based interaction, card placement logic, spatial registration, and animated UI — all designed with modularity in mind so it can be reused across different projects.
The template aims to lower the technical barrier for new developers while encouraging creative experimentation with MR-based storytelling, learning, and play.
