Smart Cupboard Assistant

The Smart Cupboard Assistant was a prototype project developed during the second module of the first year of my Creative Technology bachelor’s. The goal was to explore how a digital assistant could support more sustainable food habits by connecting to a cupboard equipped with sensors that monitor humidity and temperature using Arduino.

The app was designed to keep track of pantry items, notify users when products were nearing their expiry date, and suggest recipes based on available ingredients. The concept aimed to encourage smarter grocery use and reduce waste in everyday life.

While the app was not fully functional, we developed a working interface prototype and connected it to simulated sensor data. It included sections for a pantry overview, shopping list, recipe suggestions, and a dashboard with environmental data. I focused mainly on building the app interface and structuring its functionality to align with the prototype’s goals.
